The Season to be Jolly

How awesome is it to have off from work when your kids have school?  I hope the He'atid clones copy this policy.

why dont you change your name to "i hate being a yeshiva dad" or "i love heatid" more than my own kids. some parents actulally like being home and enjoying a day with their children. sorry that you view school as a babysitting service.
I spend a lot of time with my kids. I don't think enjoying 1 day off without them is that unusual. If you can't possibly spend any time with your spouse without your kids you can always leave them home from school that day.

And if you only send your children to school for the education (even in pre-k) then you should still appreciate the extra days of education at He'atid.

Totally agree with Change Your Name. The complainers like YD used to scream about how they had to work on days their kids might be off from school. Now, it turns out that YD only cares about being away from his kids as much as possible. Maybe you can have an enhanced heatid service that will take your kids off your hands till bedtime, and perhaps Sunday as well.
I suppose I'm a horrible parent for enjoying 8 hours of the entire year that I get to be home without waiting on my child hand and foot.
We went to the Zoo with our kids on Christmas Day. It was a good mix of Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and other non-Christian minorities. As everyone was off, a lot of extended family came with us. My kids had cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents while they enjoyed the zebras and lions.

It was pretty cool. I had a slow week the entire time between Christmas and New Years, it was nice to get home early, do stuff with the kids all day, etc. Business is about to get really busy, I enjoyed the "holiday season."

It was actually pretty nice have Christmas and Chanukah so far apart. We had Chanukah stuff every day during the holiday without having business "holiday parties" interfering. We then had a bunch of business functions, and quiet time while 99.8% of the country with kids was on Winter Break.

It worked out nicely, because "Yeshiva Week" in January and we'd need to have the kids in "Winter Break Camp," it's the busiest time of the year. This worked out very nicely for us.

Of course, the weather is much nicer here this time of year than by you.
