In honor of Yom Ha'atzmaut I just wanted to point out that if the "Goldbergs" from yesterday's post were living in Israel and sending their kids to Dati Leumi schools, they would be paying a quarter as much in tuition and fees as they are at BPY. About 12,000 according to a source in Israel, mostly for the little one.
And they would be paying that in shekels rather than dollars!
Chag Sameach everyone!

If not, their finances in Israel may actually be worse, as salaries are significantly lower while housing costs are comparable (for a comparable standard of living) and food/fuel/taxes are higher. Or they could lower their standard of living to make up the difference. Regardless, they are paying less for tuition - which makes having larger families easier - and getting the mitzvah of living in eretz yisrael.
